Renowned design competitions are an important benchmark: manufacturers and developers can directly compete against each other, potential buyers are given a valuable orientation aid for above-average design quality. Besides formal requirements, importance is also attached to other criteria such as e.g. degree of innovation, functionality, ecological compatibility, durability or the emotional content of a product. One of the internationally most famous prizes is the red dot design award. This year, Deutsche Steinzeug participated with two series of the brand AGROB BUCHTAL and one series of the brand Jasba. The proud end result: a success rate of 100%, because all the three candidates were awarded the coveted red dot design award.

AGROB BUCHTAL: two series, two awards
|
Already in 2008, one had successfully participated in this competition for the first time. At that time, the series BOSCO won a red dot design award, and the series GEO with its photoluminescent glass indicators was honoured with a "Special Distinction". Encouraged by this, the company participated in 2009 again with REFLEX and VISION. These series are two novelties which are predestined for representative areas. They obviously also convinced the top-class jury which conferred a red dot design award 2009 on both. Thus, AGROB BUCHTAL has established itself as trendsetter within a very short time and impressively proved that tile design made in Germany is absolutely competitive.

REFLEX is characterized by structures resembling organic tissue and sophisticated matt-gloss impressions which are based on a special finishing technique. Depending on the incidence of light, alternating reflections occur which create a luxurious and noble ambience.

Thanks to its silky-matt surface with a filigree, thread-like relief, VISION conveys a quite special impression which is reminiscent of fine stress marks. Formats with edge lengths of 90 cm give the texture an elaborate and refined appearance. A sensuous flair is created without superficial, cheap showmanship.

Jasba-NATURAL GLAMOUR: honoured twice
|
The exceptional quality of this creation was honoured even twice by competent authorities: after winning the "iF product design award 2009", the series now has also been awarded the "red dot design award 2009". Thus, Jasba-NATURAL GLAMOUR won two of the most coveted prizes at all immediately after each other. This phenomenal judgement by independent expert juries confirms the positive response the series got at important fairs: both at the BAU in Munich (January) and also at the ISH in Frankfurt (March), the visitors were enthusiastic about the interplay between naturalness and glamour. The typical stylistic device is prefabricated mosaic strips turning into sophisticated decoration: by the subtle variation of the direction or width of the strips, surfaces can be given rhythm and structure with simplest means. In combination with various looks, surfaces, formats and expressive colours, a great number of design options for individual room concepts opens up - exactly the right choice for people who love the out-of-the-ordinary and appreciate unpretentious elegance.
